1. At-Tawbah (Repentance)
Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And said, ‘Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.
He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers
And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.
(Quran Surah Nooh 71:10-12)
2. Being Mindful of Allah And Fearing Him (Taqwah)
Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
“….And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out (i.e., relief from distress).”
(Quran Surah Al-Talaaq 65:2-3)
3. Upholding Ties of Kinship
Narrated by Anas bin Malik:
I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying, “whoever desires an expansion in his sustenance and age, should keep good relations with his Kith and kin.”
(Hadith Al-Bukhari 2067)
4. Performing Hajj and ‘Umrah often
Abdullah (bin Mas’ud) narrated that:
The Messenger of Allah said: “Alternate between Hajj and Umrah; for those two remove poverty and sins just as the bellows removes filth from iron, gold, and silver – and there is no reward for Al-Hajj Al-Mabrur (an accepted hajj) except for Paradise.”
(Hadith At-Tirmidhi 810)
5. Honesty in Business Transactions
Hakim b. Hazim (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
Both parties in a business transaction have the right to annul it so long as they have not separated; and if they speak the truth and make everything clear they will be blessed in their transaction; but if they tell a lie and conceal anything the blessing on their transaction will be blotted out.
(Hadith Muslim 1532)
6. Patience & Prayer
Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
And seek help through patience and prayer; and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah]
(Qur’an Surah Al-Baqarah 2:45)
